The most common grip in golf is the overlapping grip and today I want to share with you how to form the correct overlapping grip in golf.
The overlapping grip which is the most widely used and ideal for mostly all golfers, apart from people with smaller hands.
Put your club handle into your left hand (if right-handed golfer) diagonally across your palm. Starting from your heel of your hand to the middle groove of your front finger.
Close you hand as you would when making a fist, the club should rest lightly but securely in your hand. The club should be sitting in the groove of your forefinger.
Look down your shaft and see that your thumb should be slightly right of centre of the club, forming a noticeable V shape.
Move your right hand towards the club and place it on the middle groove of your middle fingers and overlap the little finger on your right hand with the knuckle of your forefinger on your left hand.
Your right thumb should be rested on the front of the grip facing to the left. A V shape should be formed by your front thumb and forefinger towards your right side.
The you have it, follow these steps to form the correct overlapping grip in golf. Tomorrow I will share with you the way to form a interlocking and baseball grip.
