To follow on from yesterdays post, today I will be sharing with you how to form two alternative golf club grips to the overlapping grip. These two grips are not as common but can be just effective.
The Interlocking Grip
This grip is ideal for amateurs and golfers who have small hands or a weak grip.
As with the overlapping grip, rest your club across your palm of your left hand. Ensure your forefinger is left open and not gripped to the club.
Bring your right hand towards the club, your left hand forefinger should lock in between the last two fingers of your right hand.
Place the club into the middle groove of your right hand middle fingers and close your right hand over the top of your left. You should feel like your gripping the club firmly but not too severe.
When you have the perfect interlocking grip you should see on the back of the shaft the little finger of your right hand locked in between the two last fingers of your left hand.
The Baseball Grip
This grip has all your fingers holding the club similar to when holding a club\bat in most other sports.
Hold the club in your left hand with the club resting on all fingers and your thumb facing down the shaft just right of centre.
Move your right hand towards the club, both palms should be facing each other and your right hand palm should cover your left thumb.
Make sure all your fingers of your right hand cover your club securely but not too tight.
Look at the back of your club and you should see all 8 finger visible resting side by side on the club
