More Golf Club Equipment Review

Following on from yesterday, here is the next post on purchasing the correct golf club equipment for a great golf round.

Golf Clothing

If you do not wear the correct type of clothes then it could put a stop to your round straight away, event before any bad shots!! Check with the golf course before you play to find out what their dress code is, as each course can be different.

The normal restrictions are no denim, no trainers and a collared shirt or polo shirt but always check.
You want to wear clothes which do not restrict your swing in anyway, so best to go with some comfortable trousers and a collared polo shirt.

Jumpers are required for colder conditions and early starts, not too loose as that might affect your swing. Next time a pro event is on television have a look at what the professionals wear, this will give you an idea of what type of clothing is suitable.

This doesn’t mean you need to buy the same sports brands as they do, there are plenty of cheaper alternative brands which are just as good.

Hats are suitable for two main reasons keeping you warm and dry or for great vision in the sun. Invest in a woolly hat for the winter time and when it is cold and wet and a baseball style hat for better sight when the sun is glaring down or if your like me and quite thin on top for protection from the sun.

Pack those waterproofs in your bag when you’re likely to be caught out in the rain as you don’t want to get wet, as that will really cause you’re game to take a dip. Like with all clothes make sure they don’t affect your swing, so make sure they are lightweight.

An umbrella should be purchased and sometimes comes in a set with a bag and clubs, use an umbrella to keep as dry as possible in between your shots. A fibreglass one is better than metal as they are lighter and safer in lightening.

Your socks should be comfortable and not cause you any rubbing, insulated socks are great for those colder months.

Golf Accessories

There are so many golf accessories which can be purchased from loads of places nowadays, there are some essentials accessories that you should never play a game without.

A marker to mark your ball on the green, if your ball is on your playing partners putting line. A towel to wipe your ball after each hole and to dry your clubs grip during wet games, plenty of tees of all sizes suitable for your different clubs. These can be wooden or plastic, which ever you prefer.

Grass repairers to repair divots where you have pitched onto the green and left a mark, a pen or preferably a pencil to mark your card as you go along.

Hopefully only one ball is needed during your round, but sometimes you may hit a few wayward shots so make sure you have enough balls in your bag to get you through the round. It’s good to mark the balls prior to starting your round, this will ensure you only play your ball and inform the other golfers which ball you are using. All golfers should do this when you are at the first tee.
