A great way to improve your golf swing is to ensure you complete a pre-shot routine every time you play a shot. This maybe time consuming at first but after you complete it a few times it will be natural and really improve your golf swing.
Start by standing behind the ball and make and image of the exact shot you want to play in your mind, this will keep you focused.
Then align your clubface to the target square on, this can be done easily by finding a close target which is only just in front of you. This could be a twig, leaf or some other golfers’ divot mark.
Doing this really helps to make sure the clubface is facing the correct direction. It can be hard to aim to an object which is a couple of hundred yards away.
Make sure your hands are gripping the club correctly and then complete your stance without moving your clubface. Maintain great posture, the knees should be flexed not straight and bend forward from the hips not the waist.
When you have set your stance make sure everything is square as possible to the bottom of your club face, the way your body is aligned will determine which path your ball will travel, so it’s key to get it correct.
When you feel you’re in the correct position move the club back and forward a few times this will ease any tensions you may have in your arms. As long as your posture is looking good, you should be perfect to swing the club and hit that ball correctly.
Practice this on every shot until its automatic and this technique will improve your golf swing.
