Following on from the my last post, I have some more information to ensure you complete the proper golf stance setup, today we will be looking at your posture and golf ball position.
The golf ball position is vital when setting up your stance, to far forward and your have an out-to-in swing.
So when hitting with woods and long irons, line the ball up to your left heel, the medium irons play between the left heel and centre and your short clubs played from the centre of your stance.
Consistent is the key so make sure you practice this so it becomes second nature.
The next part of your stance is your posture, which can be perfected by going through another quick routine.
When you’re in the correct position, so have your feet set and your body parallel to the target line.
Stand straight up resting your golf club at your side.
Then from your hips bend forwards making sure your arms hang relaxed, slightly bend the knees so your rear sticks out a bit. You should feel very stable and powerful on your feet.
Now grip your club and address the ball, ensuring that you do not move your posture. It should feel a bit weird at first, this is good as you know you are in the correct posture.
You should be looking straight at the ball, your chin should not be too close to your chest.
Complete these techniques with my last post and in know time you will have perfected the proper golf stance setup. Your golf buddies will be amazed at how straight you can hit the ball and the extra distance.
